How I Record Phone Interviews with a Digital Hybrid
I’ve been meaning to make this video for a while, but this past week I’ve had several people ask what equipment I use to record the phone interviews I do for MemberCon.com and our membership site, TraderInterviews.com.
Here is a quick video that shows how to record interviews with a digital hybrid.
The equipment and services I use:
1. JK Audio innkeeper 1x Digital Hybrid
2. Marantz CDR420 Recorder
3. Electro-Voice RE-20 Microphone
4. Adobe Audition
5. Levelator software
6. Windows Movie Maker
7. Microsoft PowerPoint
8. Blip.tv
9. This video was made with the Flip Ultra HD

Tim,
Great info and presentation! Thanks for taking the time to share. Oh and the rest of this site is also full of great info.

Great info Tim. However, I got a question…
How much did your set up cost you in the end?
Hi K.D,
They digital hybrid runs about $600, the Marantz runs about $1200, and the electrovoice mic goes for about $250.
It’s definitely not the cheapest setup, but everything works really well together. Of course you can do something similar with Skype and $15 USB microphone, but I’ve just not been pleased with the consistency of the audio when I tried to use that type of setup.
Great info Tim. However, I got a question…
